Overview

FullPageSnap is a Chrome browser extension that captures screenshots of web pages and provides annotation tools. Your privacy is fundamental to how the extension is built. FullPageSnap does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data.

What data we collect

None. FullPageSnap does not collect any personal information, usage statistics, crash reports, or telemetry of any kind. No data about you or your browsing activity ever leaves your device.

How screenshot data is handled

When you capture a screenshot, the image data is processed entirely within your browser:

  • Screenshots are captured using Chrome's built-in captureVisibleTab API, which only captures the currently visible tab you are actively using.
  • Image data is held temporarily in chrome.storage.session — a session-scoped storage that exists only for the duration of your browser session and is automatically cleared when you close Chrome.
  • Session storage is used solely to pass the captured image from the popup to the editor tab. It is never persisted to disk or sent anywhere.
  • Annotations you add in the editor exist only in memory for the duration of that editor tab. Nothing is saved when you close the tab.

Permissions explained

FullPageSnap requests the following Chrome permissions:

activeTab

Required to capture the visible area of the tab you are currently viewing.

tabs

Required for full-page scroll capture, which needs the tab ID and window dimensions.

scripting

Required to inject the overlay that lets you draw a selection rectangle or freeform shape on the page.

storage

Required to temporarily hold the screenshot in session storage while the editor tab is opening. Data is never persisted beyond your browser session.

Third-party services

FullPageSnap does not use any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or CDNs. The extension contains no external scripts and makes no network requests during normal use. All functionality works completely offline after installation.

Data sharing

We do not share any data with any third parties because we do not collect any data. There is nothing to share.

Children's privacy

FullPageSnap does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. As we collect no personal information from any user, this applies equally to all age groups.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
